Hello Dolly Bars
Hello Dolly Bars are easy, simple, and absolutely delicious! This is one of those old-fashioned desserts that proves you don’t need a long list of ingredients or a complicated recipe to make something really good. You basically layer everything into a baking dish, pour a can of sweetened condensed milk over the top, and let the oven do the rest.
And let me tell you, these are GOOD.
You have a buttery graham cracker crust on the bottom, followed by marshmallows, chopped pecans, semi-sweet chocolate chips, sweetened coconut, and that glorious sweetened condensed milk poured over everything. As the bars bake, all of those layers come together to create a rich, gooey, chewy dessert with a little crunch from the pecans.
These are definitely sweet and indulgent, which is exactly what I want from a dessert like this!
Ingredients
1 sleeve graham crackers, crushed
1 stick salted butter, melted
1 cup mini marshmallows
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 cups sweetened shredded coconut
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed graham crackers and melted salted butter. Stir until the graham cracker crumbs are evenly coated.
Press the graham cracker mixture firmly and evenly into the bottom of a 9-inch baking dish.
Sprinkle the mini marshmallows evenly over the graham cracker crust.
Add the chopped pecans and semi-sweet chocolate chips.
Sprinkle the sweetened shredded coconut evenly over the top.
Pour the entire can of sweetened condensed milk evenly over all of the layers.
Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden and the edges are bubbly.
Allow the bars to cool before slicing.
Serve warm, at room temperature, or chilled. They’re absolutely delicious all three ways!
An Easy Old-Fashioned Dessert
One of my favorite things about Hello Dolly Bars is how incredibly easy they are to make. There’s no mixer needed, no frosting to make, and no complicated steps. The hardest part might be crushing the graham crackers!
Start by combining one sleeve of crushed graham crackers with a stick of melted salted butter. Press that mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch baking dish to make the crust.
Then comes the fun part: the layers!
Add a cup of mini marshmallows, a cup of chopped pecans, and a cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips. Next, add two cups of sweetened shredded coconut over the top. Finally, pour an entire can of sweetened condensed milk evenly over everything.
That’s it!
Pop the baking dish into a 350°F oven for about 30 minutes, and you have a pan of rich, gooey Hello Dolly Bars ready to enjoy.
Warm, Room Temperature, or Chilled
Another thing I love about these bars is that they are delicious at just about any temperature.
If you eat one while it’s still a little warm, the chocolate is melty, the marshmallows are gooey, and the whole thing is extra soft and decadent. Let them cool completely and they become easier to slice and have that classic chewy bar texture.
And don’t overlook them straight from the refrigerator! Chilled Hello Dolly Bars are absolutely delicious, too. They firm up and become extra chewy, which makes them perfect for grabbing when you want a little something sweet.
Basically, there is no wrong way to eat one!
Perfect for Sharing
Hello Dolly Bars are also a great dessert when you need something easy for a party, holiday, potluck, family gathering, or just a sweet treat at home. You can make them ahead of time, let them cool, slice them into bars, and you’re ready to go.
They’re rich enough that you can cut them into smaller pieces, especially if you’re serving them alongside other desserts. Although, I won’t judge anybody for going back for a second one!
If you love easy desserts with chocolate, coconut, pecans, and plenty of gooey goodness, add these Hello Dolly Bars to your list. They’re simple, nostalgic, ridiculously delicious, and exactly the kind of recipe I love making.
